Summer Assignments at BF

Below are the appropriate Math and Reading Summer assignments. áPlease click on the appropriate grade for assignment.

6th Grade Reading Assignmentá(students going into 6th grade)

Ridgewood Middle School students are expected to read at least three books over the summer. áIn September, be prepared to share and reflect on your reading experiences with teachers and other students. You can read any titles that you choose (one must be a Award winning book), but do keep track of your reading by listing them in the categories on the back of the reading assignment page or create your own categories. áBE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR AWARD WINNING BOOK IN ONE OF THE CATEGORIES. áClick here for the 6th Grade reading assignment

7th Grade Reading Assignmentá(6th Graders going into 7th Gr)

All incoming 7th graders need to read at least 3 books from different genres. áPlease record the title, author, genre and include a variety of fiction and nonfiction. áClick here for more information.

8th Grade Reading Assignmentá(7th Graders going into 8th Gr)

8th graders will be required to do two reading assignments over the summer, fiction and nonfiction. This is important because in 8thágrade, we will be using a lot of these skills in our reading, speaking and writing. Please click here for your assignment.

8tháGrade Summer Math Packetá(7th graders going into 8th grade)

In the Summer Math packet (click here) are skills you are expected to have coming into 8th grade. We will be giving you an assessment to test your knowledge during the first couple days of school. You are expected to be able to solve these problems without a calculator. áIf you find that you need more practice, there are many sites online that offer games and tutorials. áHave a great summer! We look forward to working with you in the fall.

Also, please click on the link on the left side entitled "School Supplies" for each grade level school supply list.
